Privacy policy

Valid from

This policy describes the personal information TorontoSearchLab collects, the reasons, and the choices people in Canada have, including under PIPEDA and, for people in Quebec, the province's private-sector privacy law as amended by Law 25.

1Accountable organization

Accountability for this information rests with Techno Hiker Pvt Ltd, the Indian company that runs TorontoSearchLab. Our privacy contact can be reached at hello@torontosearchlab.online or through the site review form.

2Information we collect

  • Through the review form: name, email, type of business, website, the places you serve, and your message.
  • During an engagement: contracts, invoices, emails and call notes.
  • With your permission only: access to Search Console, your Business Profile or your site's admin area.

3Why we use it

To reply to review requests, to carry out the work you hire us for, to keep financial records the law requires, and to keep this site secure. We do not use it for any other purpose without asking you first.

4Tracking on this site

A single essential cookie guards the review form against forgery. The site carries no analytics, ad or profiling tools, so nothing here can identify, locate or profile you, and no consent banner is needed.

5Your customers' information

Our work rarely needs your customers' personal information, and we ask you not to send it. If we come across it inside a system you give us access to, we look only at what the task requires and keep no copies.

6Service providers and disclosure

Hosting and email companies process information for us under contract. We disclose information to authorities only where legally obliged. Personal information is never sold, and client names stay private unless a client agrees in writing.

7Processing outside Canada

Because the practice is run from India and uses providers in other countries, your information may be stored or processed outside Canada, where different laws apply. We take contractual and practical steps to protect it wherever it is held.

8Retention

  • Review requests with no engagement: removed within twelve months.
  • Access to your systems: withdrawn when the engagement ends.
  • Financial and contract records: held for the period tax law requires.

9Access, correction and complaints

You can ask what information we hold about you, have it corrected, withdraw consent, or, where the law provides, ask for deletion or a portable copy. We verify identity before answering and reply within thirty days. You may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Quebec, the Commission d'accès à l'information.

10Changes to this policy
